Our guiding vision is to create a world where children are free from online harms, and offline harms resulting from online influence.
Smartphones are incredible devices.
But neither they, nor the mobile phone networks they run on were designed with family safety in mind.
Teenagers are dealing with the negative impacts of social media on smartphones on a daily basis. Every mobile network treats a 14-year-old the same as a 40-year-old.
We can do better. We must do better. Which is why we are launching Haven.
Haven is a safety-first mobile phone network. Not another phone. Not another app.
Safety built in at the network layer. It can't be deleted. It can't be bypassed. It works on any device.
Our AI detects harmful patterns in real time, on-device. Messages stay private. As a parent you get notified when it matters — Haven is not a surveillance feed.
We are building this for a better future for our families and the communities they are part of.
From the community. For the community.
We are a group of non-judgemental parents who are pro-tech and pro-childhood.
We came together to help drive forward the national conversation looking at the impact of social media and smartphones on children.
We have been at the heart of this movement from the very beginning, and continue to support it.
Standing on the shoulders of giants.
We didn't arrive at Haven in a vacuum. These are the people and movements that shaped our thinking.

A children's mental health charity doing essential work at the intersection of early intervention and digital wellbeing.
Smartphone Free Childhood
The SFC movement and parent pact align directly with the principles laid out by Jonathan Haidt in The Anxious Generation. We are building a safe mobile network that can be considered a technical partner to Jon Haidt's solution, "The Amazing Generation."
Lord Nash in the House of Lords
"My Lords, we have reached an inflection point. We are facing nothing short of a societal catastrophe caused by the fact that so many of our children are addicted to social media.
Many teenagers are spending long hours — five, six, seven or more a day — on social media.
The evidence is now overwhelming as to the damage that this is causing. We have long passed the point of correlation or causation. There is now so much evidence from across the world that it is clear that by every metric — health, cognitive ability, educational attainment, crime, economic productivity — children are being harmed."
— Lord Nash, House of Lords
Design of the network.
- Safe out of the box — on any device
- We will not allow porn on the network
- Nor the use of VPNs or proxies
- Government-grade age verification required for downloading social media apps (16+)
Who we support.
We haven't yet figured out the exact mechanism (as we are just launching), but we are committed to giving back to the groups helping to shape the conversation around protecting childhood and parenting in the digital age.
- Smartphone Free Childhood
- Generation Focus
- Nip in the Bud
- Scroll Aware
Some things we believe.
Technology can be a force for good. And we believe children do not benefit from unrestricted access to:
- The unfiltered internet
- Infinite scrolling mechanisms
- Online predators
- Sextortion
- An ultimate distraction and addiction device in their pockets
And we believe childhood looks like this:
- School is a place for learning & interacting with peers in the real world
- Climb trees
- Get muddy
Risks and challenges.
Building a mobile network (even a virtual one) is genuinely hard. We want to be upfront about what that means.
We're a new entrant in a regulated industry. As an MVNO, Haven operates on top of existing UK network infrastructure under a host network agreement. That agreement is being negotiated, and like any commercial relationship, it carries dependency risk. We've built contingency into our timeline and have identified alternative partners if needed.
The AI safety layer is ambitious. On-device detection of grooming patterns and age-inappropriate content is technically novel. We're not promising it will be perfect on day one. We're promising we'll ship it responsibly, test it rigorously with real families in our close network, and iterate openly. Founding members will get a chance to vote on which features ship first.
Children's data regulation is strict — and it should be. The ICO's Children's Code and UK GDPR compliance requirements for under-18s are demanding. We've designed privacy-first from the start (no surveillance dashboards, weekly summaries only), but navigating regulatory approval takes time. We'd rather get this right out of the gate, than move fast and break things.
We're a small team launching something large. We're honest about what that means for timelines. If we're delayed, you'll hear from us first, with a clear reason, a revised plan, and no spin. That's a commitment, not a platitude.
What we have that most campaigns don't: no physical manufacturing, no supply chain, no customs risk. We're software, eSIM contracts, and network agreements. The dependencies are commercial and regulatory, not logistical.
We've thought hard about what could go wrong. The answer isn't "nothing." The answer is that we've planned for it, and we will be continuously monitoring risks.
We are from the community, building for the community.
We have experienced, first-hand, products that either see community as something to shoe-horn into their growth plans, or products built by people who haven't been part of driving forward this vital conversation — except when seeking to profiteer.
We are launching the Haven waitlist to demonstrate the groundswell of support for what we are building. As a waitlist member, you get to be at the front of the line for access to the network when we launch.
You also get an amazing deal on a mobile contract — for life.
Down the line, we may raise money via crowdfunding. This means you would also get an opportunity to own part of the network you use. We believe in shared ownership, and building together with the voice of the community at the heart of what we are creating.
